HISTORY OF THE RUBBERBAND AND CARTIER LOVE BRACELET:
RUBBERBAND: 🧠
The Rubberband can be traced back to ancient Mexico and Central America, where tribes such as the Mayas, Olmecs and Aztecs harvested latex from rubber.
Now, fast forward to the 19th century. This is when an Englishman named Thomas Hancock found a unique use of rubber. He decided to make bands out of them, and thus, in 1820, the first ever known rubber band was born in England.
CARTIER LOVE BRACELET: 🧠
The Love Bracelet (styled L⊝Ve, with the horizontal line inside the letter "O" alluding to the bracelet's locking mechanism) is a piece of jewelry designed in 1969 by Aldo Cipullo.
As the Love bracelet symbolize binding and everlasting love, Cartier originally only allowed couples to purchase the bracelet. The wearer of the bracelet would entrust her bracelet’s screwdriver to her partner for safekeeping.
